Two more quick updates to the recent release of Autograph iOS library v1.4:

  • Fix - Library now correctly returns full retina-resolution images. If you're using T1Signature.imageData, it'll be a bit bigger.
  • Fix - Removed confusing and unused property of T1Signature called clipSignatureToBounds. The new clipSignatureToBounds property of T1Autograph introduced in v1.4 is still around, of course.
  • The latest library and demo project are available here. Release history for T1Autograph is here.

Just a few tweaks to last-week's release of Autograph iOS library v1.4:

  • Fix - Demo mode (signature with watermark) once again supports both iOS 5 and iOS 6.

The Autograph iOS signature capture library has been updated with some oft-requested features. We're pleased as punch about it. Here are the highlights:

  • New Feature - T1Signature rawPoints property is now comprised of T1SignaturePoint objects that provide access to timestamp, velocity, location, pressure, and diameter data for each point in the signature.
  • New Feature - Property clipSignatureToBounds (default NO) provides a signature image with a consistent size clipped to your UIView.
  • New Feature - Delegate message autograph:didEndLineWithSignaturePointCount: gives you a chance to selectively enable your done button only after a signature has started. This is useful in cases where a signature is required.
  • Fix - Built-in modal view auto-rotates better in iOS 6 on iPhone.
  • Fix - Fixed 80 byte memory leak.
  • Fix - Fixed crash related to autorotation in demo project.
  • Fix - Built-in modal signature view now uses white background consistently.
  • Fix - Fixed crash related to touchesMoved: messages after the clear button is tapped.
  • Fix - Frame size now correctly returned from signature in modal view.

The latest library and demo project are available here. Release history for T1Autograph is here.

January 22nd, 2013

Early January is a fitting time for CES. It's only just 2013, and those numbers feel strange, like you are still trying them on. It feels a little bit like the future, and it's a great time to explore the latest gear at CES. This year we opted for a larger booth space. This gave us more room to interact and demo Pogo Connect. We we also had room to display app icons from the wonderful apps that support Pogo Connect. There were many other Bluetooth 4.0 products at the show. The cookoo watch was fun to see in person. Casio's G-Shock joined with other kickstarter-y types to round out the watch selection. There was a variety of 'track your stuff'-type tags. We also heard about the next-generation Bluetooth chips directly from the manufacturers. It's more of a 2014 thing, but some nice enhancements are coming down the road. Big TVs. Everywhere. It's always fun to see the Samsung and LG booths. They probably outspend us by 1000-1, but it's easy to forget your budget-envy when confronted with a 200 foot tv. There were parties and excessive consumption, and taxis drivers whose shifts start at 3AM to compensate. We were absolutely not part of a $65,000 liquor bill, but we know someone who was. We had a fun time this year, and although it'll be a while before we're ready for another show, this was a good time to see old friends, enjoy good food, and show off the latest features of Pogo Connect. Yours, T1 Team

Holiday. A special time to eat heaps of food with friends and family. Watch violent sports on big screens. Mayyybe get off the couch. It's no time to sneak away and open your laptop. It's certainly no time to do any coding. Most of all, it's not the time to check out that latest T1PogoManager. But if you do (really, you know you shouldn't), have we got a treat for you. This new SDK does 2 new things. 1) It brings palm rejection to artistic apps. If you use gestures in your app for panning, zooming, or undoing, the SDK can now tell you when to disable them because a palm has been placed on the display. Also good for note-taking apps, of course. 2) A major cleanup of some earlier memory woes. There's no more need to deregister views or set delegates to nil before T1PogoManager goes away. Release notes:

  • Add - More accurate palm rejection performance.
  • Add - Delegate message telling your app when to disable/enable gestures.
  • Chg - deRegisterView:, penLocatorView, startPenLocatorWithAudio:, stopPenLocator now all deprecated.
  • Fix - Pens connected via Pogo Bridge app now correctly send didDisconnectPen when bridge disconnects.
  • Fix - Fixed rare message indicating unauthorized hardware.
  • Fix - Deallocated T1PogoManagers now fully clean up all associated objects.
  • Fix - Rare instance of sending didUpdatePeripheral message with a nil peripheral in conjunction with an old Pogo Connect App version.

As usual, the updated SDK and demo project are available here. Release history for T1PogoManager is here.
