Can I use any tablet or laptop with Mountie+?
Mountie+ is designed with iPads and MacBooks in mind. However, Mountie is not Apple-exclusive and will happily secure other tablet and phones that have similar dimensions.
How do I install Mountie+?
Step 1: Select the right rubber grips for your device, and install them onto Mountie+. See the chart below for our recommendations.
Step 2: Connect one device to Mountie+ at a time, pushing the lever arms down to secure it.
Step 3: Once both devices are clamped in, pull down firmly on the attached tablet or phone. It should not move. If it does, change to a new grip, or adjust the grip using the included stick-on inserts.

Which rubber grip should I use for my device?
We’ve preloaded Mountie+ with the rubber grips for the devices we think you’ll most likely be using. But you can easily swap out grips for your particular
setup. Use the chart below to find the right fit.

What if I have to use the same rubber grip for my laptop and mobile device?
We’ve got you covered. Mountie+ ships with miniature stick-on inserts to help fill the gaps. Simply switch to the next smaller size grip, and add the stick-on inserts to achieve the desired grip size.
Which laptops will Mountie+ work with?
Mountie+ has been heavily tested on MacBooks and every other laptop we could get our hands on.
Does Mountie+ work with the new Sidecar feature included with macOS 10.15 Catalina?
Mountie+ and Sidecar are a match made in heaven. By placing the iPad so close to your Mac’s display, it creates a single large and incredibly productive workspace. We think you’ll love using Mountie+ with Sidecar.
My laptop is small. Can I attach an iPad Pro or other heavy tablet?
Mounting a heavier tablet to a lightweight computer can be done with Mountie+, but it’s a good idea to keep the tablet low or resting on the desk to help with the weight balance.
Will my iPad protective case fit in Mountie+?
Probably, but you should verify it first. The total thickness needs to be under 9mm (0.35 inches).
Will Mountie+ hold iPads before iPad Air?
Nope; those old things are too clunky.
Can Mountie+ be used with an iMac?
Unfortunately, the iMac’s back surface has a curvature that is slightly too steep for a secure grip.
Can Mountie+ be used with and Asus ZenScreen or other external USB display?
We’ve seen it done plenty, but we’ve not tested it here, so your results may vary. In particular, you'll want to check if the laptop + screen center of gravity will make it too easy to tip your laptop to the side. If that’s a problem, a good workaround is usually to rest the bottom edge of your external display on the desk.
What type of apps should I use with Mountie+?
Use any app that helps you make it through the day. Our partners in crime include

How strong is Mountie+?
Crazy strong. Mountie+ uses an enhanced version of the standard Mountie clamp mechanism we designed from the ground up. Also, it has swappable rubber inserts, so you can find the best grip to hold your favorite mobile device.
Are there any times I should not use Mountie+?
Be careful moving your laptop when a heavy tablet is attached. Generally speaking, it’s fine, but avoid trampolines or other situations where there is a lot of shaking or vibration. Use common sense when operating Mountie+. Also, remember to detach your tablet before closing your laptop lid. It may seem obvious, but sometimes it’s easy to forget.
Is Mountie+ safe to use with my laptop?
Yes. Mountie+ holds your devices gently yet securely with its rubber grips. The weight of the device is distributed evenly along the length of Mountie+. Laptop hinges are not subjected to any undue stress.
How long can Mountie+ hold my device?
Somewhere between “longer than you can” and “days at a time.” Do: watch an entire season of Friends. Don’t: leave Mountie+ up while you go on vacation. Every situation is different, so be sure to test before leaving your device unattended.
Should I use Mountie+ at work?
Definitely. We’re doing it right now.
May I close my laptop when Mountie+ is attached?
This is easier to do with a standard Mountie. However, if Mountie+ is situated near the top of your laptop display it may be ok. Each machine/situation is different.
Will Mountie+ work with my PC/Chromebook/H4X0R machine?
Almost certainly. Mountie+ works with every laptop we’ve tested.
